Wendy Corbett, Worcestershire (home-based)Wendy Corbett, BA (Hons), MA, Dip.
Early and mid career
My career started in print media and publishing and evolved to incorporate digital media and publishing.
I studied Design and Visual Communication at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, Graphic and Multimedia Design at Worcester Art College and Creative Digital Media at The University of Worcester.
[I’m an Associate Lecturer in Creative Digital Media at the University of Worcester].
I’m now a home-based digital media designer (based in Worcestershire) and an Associate Lecturer at The University of Worcester. I’m interested in collaborating on projects that support positive visual messages, community, i.e. design for social good.
Visual communication and transnational media
I’ve worked in media and publishing in London, Australia and Hong Kong, most notably for The International Herald Tribune, at the time owned by The New York Times and Washington Post.
I returned to the UK to study for an MA at Central Saint Martins (CSM) as I was keen to deepen my understanding of visual communication and transnational design. After completing my MA I felt the shift towards digital media so I went back to art college and then to university to study creative digital media to degree level.
My first job in digital media was as a multimedia designer working for local government as part of the urban environment and planning department. I learnt a lot about the work that planning officers do to develop the built environment for humans and habitats.
